About This Spot

Stepping into Washoe House, you’re met with a warmly worn charm that feels like slipping into a well-loved story. This American bar and grill in Petaluma carries an easygoing, lived-in spirit with an edge of playful character—thousands of dollar bills pinned across the ceiling telling silent tales, the buzz of regulars sharing laughs, and a pace that invites you to settle in, whether for morning coffee or a late-night meal.

The atmosphere balances between casual comfort and a subtle vibrancy, where bikers chatting over early brews blend effortlessly with families gathering for hearty plates. It’s a place that invites connection, where moments are crafted over rich aromas of grilled dishes and the clink of glasses, carrying familiar warmth without ever feeling routine.

Here, the menu unfolds like an exploration of classic American flavors, thoughtfully served with a twist of homestyle comfort. Whether it’s the satisfying crunch of hand-battered fish and chips, the comforting embrace of biscuits and gravy, or the indulgent surf and turf pairing, each dish feels like a conversation between tradition and local spirit. The kitchen’s attention to honest, uncomplicated food is evident in every bite — from the tang of homemade blue cheese dressing to the soulful softness of freshly baked bread enclosing juicy sandwiches.

Washoe House also feels alive with community rituals that add a unique texture to the experience. Open mic nights bring a spirited energy, while weekend prime rib dinners invite slower, lingering meals shared among friends. These moments create a layered rhythm of warmth and a subtle sense of belonging, where visitors and locals alike find space to savor both the food and the human stories buzzing around the tables.

All told, Washoe House quietly invites you to embrace its mix of history and conviviality, promising more than a meal—a genuine slice of Petaluma’s local heart and soul.

I was so impressed by our meal at Washoe House, it was great quality food in a fun and funky setting. Our sandwiches were served on fresh gorgeous bread, and the onion rings were heavenly. I must go back to try the breakfast! They have biscuits and gravy!!

You can't help but have fun when you come here! The staff and atmosphere are great. Thursday open mic is great energy. Food is amazing!! Prime rib on the weekend is excellent and you need to try their homemade blue cheese dressing.

Great spot chuck full of history. Had the Rueben, Potatoe soup and Angus Burger. Burger was slightly overcooked (asked for medium) but other than that everything was delicious.

Fun stop in Petaluma area! Walked in and there's thousands of dollar bills on the ceiling. No one quite knows the story behind it. Told me I could prob look it up. Bikers and babes already at the bar for a beer at 10 am on a Sunday morning. Breakfast burrito was da bomb. Fun biker stop.

Wonderful place to share a meal with comfortable atmosphere and character. Several tasty selections, and I had the country fried steak, which was delicious.
